"Absolutely gorgeous artwork!! A treasure trove of Alaskan beauty!"
Norman Lowell Studio & Gallery
Allemania — Kenai, Alaska — Aug 20, 2007

My family and I stopped there today on our way to Homer. The artwork in this little tucked away gallery is absolutely beautiful and represented so clearly the beauty of Alaska. We were also fortunate to get to speak to the artist himself, Norman Lowell, a humble but obviously extremely gifted gentleman. After visiting the art gallery, we walked up the path and visited the old original cabin that Mr. Lowell and his wife built and lived in when they first came to homestead in Alaska. This place is a hidden treasure trove. You absolutely must stop and visit this gallery whenever you are traveling to Homer.

"Magnificent, awe-inspiring works of art in a breathtaking setting. GO!"

You MUST see this place! It is an awe-inspiring combination of art gallery, sanctuary, and museum. All the works are Norman Lowell's, and you are likely to meet him and his wife, Libby. Wonderful people. You can also stroll up the path past their house and see the log cabin that he first built in 1958 when they homesteaded and in which they raised their five children. A movie should be made of their lives. The gallery is a breathtaking building and an architectural wonder in itself. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! We spent hours there and consider it one of the top highlights of many in 10 days in Alaska.

"Positively a Must-See!"

I lived on the Kenai Peninsula for many years, and became acquainted with Norman Lowell & his wife Libby way back when their homestead was a modest attraction for locals. Now with the Gallery and magnitude of his works on display, along with many wonderful Alaska artifacts, this is simply a Must-See for anyone traveling that area! There is no admission charge, and the DELIGHT you will experience, I can hardly begin to describe! It will blow your mind, knock your socks off... These folks are two of the nicest you will meet in a lifetime!

Visitors and locals have thanked me PROFUSELY for directing them there, and tell me it was the ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT of their trip to the KP and the Anchor Point and Homer area! I tried to go annually while I lived there, and always felt as if I had experienced the 'Trip of my life!' each time I went! Peaceful! Tranquil! Sanctuary! Over the years I have collected quite a NICE selection of Norman Lowell's works that I ENJOY in my home!

It is my understanding that this owner-owned Gallery is a RARE find—that most artists, world-wide, display their work in someone else's gallery. Plan to spend a minimum of one hour, and don't be surprised if you are there for two! ENJOY!
